Cha

Privacy Policy

Effective April 27, 2026

Cha is built to respect your privacy. The short version: Cha does not collect, track, or transmit any of your data. Everything you do in the app stays on your device.

Data we collect

None. Cha has no accounts, no sign-ups, and no servers. We don't see your tea library, brew history, ratings, notes, photos, or settings.

Data stored on your device

Cha stores the following locally on your iPhone and (if you use it) Apple Watch:

This data lives in the app's sandboxed storage on your device. Deleting the app deletes this data.

Apple Watch

If you use the Apple Watch app, Cha uses Apple's WatchConnectivity framework to sync your tea list and brew state between your iPhone and your paired Apple Watch. This communication happens directly between your devices and is not sent to us or to any third party.

Analytics, advertising, and tracking

Cha contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no third-party tracking of any kind. The app does not make network requests.

App Store and TestFlight

If you obtain Cha through the App Store or TestFlight, Apple may collect information about your installation, crashes, and usage as described in Apple's Privacy Policy. We may receive aggregated, anonymized reports from Apple (such as crash reports and download counts) but we cannot identify individual users.

Children

Cha is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, we will update the effective date above. Material changes will be reflected in the app or on this page.
